Product Strategy and Business Case
Overview
Mayo Clinic sought to design a product strategy that targeted reducing the emotional, physical, and economic impacts for adults with schizophrenia and their support networks.
Millions of adults living with schizophrenia in the US struggle to find the right ongoing care and support. The toll continues to build, not only on the individual but the caregivers, community, and healthcare system.

Drove product strategy and insights, leading research and business modeling to define bold, forward-looking user experiences
I led business strategy and research for a product team, overseeing the full lifecycle from initial scoping to the development of business cases, financial models, and strategic direction. My responsibilities included conducting both primary and secondary research and defining future experience requirements.
We engaged a diverse group of stakeholders, including adults with schizophrenia, their caregivers, government officials, Mayo Clinic staff, and community organizers. This holistic approach was crucial, particularly given the significant challenges surrounding continuity of care for adults with schizophrenia. Based on our findings, we recommended shifting the target audience from patients to their caregivers and loved ones.
Following this shift, I created a comprehensive analysis of key challenges and priorities, with short-, medium-, and long-term focus areas. This informed the design of a future experience for caregivers, including conceptual design mock-ups and an integrated experience approach.
To guide the product’s development, I conducted a business analysis of key functions, prioritized them by impact and effort, and assembled an ideal agile team for iterative deployment. This work culminated in securing a $3M grant for further product exploration and design.
