When Covid-19 disrupted global travel, American Airlines quickly realized that data was crucial for responding to market changes.
In response, they rapidly increased their available data by 1000% in 18 months. However, this huge growth in data showed that they needed a new data strategy to keep data quality high, ensure proper management, and make decisions based on data.

As part of this rapid 8-week program, I led and directed a team of designers and data strategy experts to redefine American Airlines' data strategy.
We conducted in-depth listening sessions with over 40 stakeholders across the data lifecycle to identify current challenges and opportunities. Based on our findings, we developed user personas to develop, prioritize, and execute strategic experience improvements for their diverse stakeholders. Through a series of executive-level workshops, we created future digital experience designs for data user personas, a 3-year strategic roadmap to advance their mission, and a sequenced list of prioritized initiatives.
To support socialization efforts, I hosted an open house to review roadmap initiatives, gave town hall presentations to share the data strategy, and provided creative direction on a socialization video.
